About
“Jonas on Baseball” is, well, a blog about baseball, written by Jonas – Jonas Altman-Kurosaki, to be exact. I’m a true baseball fan: I love the game, its intricacies and its illustrious history. I was born in 1988, but I’ve been a diehard Mets fan since ’62. I received by B.A. in Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University, with a minor in math, and was an NCAA All-American swimmer in college.
I served as Assistant Sports Editor for The Tartan, Carnegie Mellon’s weekly student newspaper, and in 2010 I began writing a dedicated baseball column called “The Cutoff Man.” I originally started “Jonas on Baseball,” and named it thusly, for its initials: JOB. I used to be looking for a job as a sportswriter. I still am, but I used to too. I’d like to think I’m a damn good writer and editor who just needs a chance to shine, so if you dig what you read, please spread the good word!
